About

Being from the Netherlands (or from any other country for that matter), you get to hear a lot stereotypes. Which is all perfectly fine if your talking with somebody you’ve just met, or just on holiday. However, when stereotypes become more than just “small talk”, and are being reinforced by politicians in international debates, it’s a bit different.

What really made me start writing about Dutch political stereotypes is not weed, prostitutes or the fact we basically live below the sea. However, once we start, these might come up anyway. Euthanasia is basically what got me. Once I started to research what is said about euthanasia in the Netherlands online, it shocked me how little is written in plain English about this policy, as well as others.

The specific article that bothered me can be found here.

I don’t claim to know the truth about all of these, I’ll just leave it at that.
